Why Ryan keeps calling this game strategy game???, when most of the time u only need luck in this game, there is nothing strategy about that when u lose 7vs3 or 4vs1 dice "wars"

Shut up you know theres strategy. Everything involves luck, you cant eliminate it.

Have you not looked at the probabilities page? Again - PROBABILITIES - from the word probable - meaning to be likely, but not certain.

If a roll is 98% to win, follow me here, it will win 98 out of 100 times (probably). So, it will happen, just seldomly.

Strategy - is not overextending yourself and protecting what you have. Fail on a 7v3, but try not to make it worse.

The sims was awesome.

Pate, yes - this game has a huge element of luck, but in the long term, a good, strategic player will win more over a bad player. There is definitely strategy to this game. I've noticed a lot of game theory applicable here.

I think the key to note is, objectively, there's no such thing as bad play; Just play that is less suited to a probably victorious outcome.

As far as those probabilities are concerned, it's probably fairest to say that the new system has "fewer paths to success" than old kdice... Hence, ONLY players who adopt a "standard" strategy are likely to sustain/raise score. Experimenters, moody players, and diehards will be punished more thoroughly.

Put another way, you could go wild and overextend as a default strategy in old kdice, and you were more likely to come out ahead - and that WASN'T due to luck... Now, the same strategy will only succeed with a lot of luck... So if someone employs a non-optimal "old school" play style, their perception will be that they lose much more often, and in part due to bad rolls hurting more (making them more noticeable).

Personally, I like options. The new playstyle can be learned, but it isn't nearly as fun a game. I literally enjoy it as much as dicewars, which is to say "as a time-sink of last resort". :/

Deanypoop, what would you say are the elements of a good strategy under the new rules? I was fairly good at the old kdice, but I really can't get going with the new version.
