New Scoring System - Needs modification

I deplore someone to please look at the new scoring system.

Initially I loved the idea, seemed like a great way to get going and a more level playing field than the ELO rankings but it is causing a real problem with the spirit of the game.

As I saw it the game was about winning and conquering as many territories as possible. It was great when everyone guns for first place.

I just left a four player game in 3rd with -3 points, at the time it was reduced to 4 players I lead and could have resigned with +5. There were 4 good players there and 2 alliances fighting it out (underdogs won which is great), but it was a really good game. Everyone was having fun and it was good banter. But this tactical flagging to maximise score is just depressing.

I suggest someone looks at how scores are affected later in the game by both dominance and finishing position. No one in my game deserved a negative point.

Perhaps a function of number of turns times your finishing position should be employed, to offset such large negative losses with dominance.

If I am missing anything with how it is working atm, please let me know. I like the new system but would rather it promoted fighting rather than flagging.

I really don't like the new system. I've been away for a while and then came back playing the way I used to.

First 2 games finished 3rd, next game finished 2nd - but no points in any of them.

At the moment first place seems to get all the points for rank and dominance and nobody else gets anything (in the game where I was 2nd, first place got +17).

Maybe once the frustration has worn off I'll come back and try to get my head around tactical quiting, but it just doesn't feel right.

I think its dumb that you can lose points, yet end up in second place. I think the dominance score needs to be worth less compared to the place rankings.
