Simple strategy improvement:

move away from larger stacks that could threaten you until you can grow and win.

anyone else have a strategy they want to share?

Wow, that's good advice. I never though of that ... Thanks, man!

Ok, here's my strategy: Always attack smaller stacks, preferably with 2 dice more. And, yeah, try to gather one big territory, but that's sort of obvious.

If you want to post the very basic strategies here, then search a corner and don't stay in the middle would be a good advice.
Another one, try not to make players angry, that are stonger then you.
And while attacking be always careful that you can defend yourself afterwards.

Risk/Benefit. If taking a risk on a 5v5 will win you the game, go for it. If attacking that 1 stack leaves you open to an 8 stack eating you entirely, don't go for it.

You make it sound like its too basic, but watch and see, in your next game someone will attack and end so that they're right up against you with their biggest stack, and its not big enough to defend your larger one.

Get 5 lands in a circle (Mikeypoo strategy), stack to 8's, and attack 1st place once you have + dice. Everyone will follow you, and you win.

1. Always play to win, but accept that you can't always win. If you can do this, you're immediately far better off than many players by being in the position of knowing that some you win, some you lose. It's just a game at the end of it all.

2. Avoid truces. The reasons for this is multi-layered, but the main one is that truces often come back and bite you on the jacksy. Whether other players admit it or not, as soon as a truce is called, all eyes are on the trucers - and that invariably spells trouble.

3. Keep your distance. Often two or more players get locked into a personal war, or a war of attrition over a piece of territory that benefits noone. If you have an eye on a spot but it looks like it's going to be heavily contested - move away and seek pastures new, chances are by the time you've established yourself in the 'other corner', the area originally in contention will be ready to plunder.

3. Don't be greedy. Many players make the mistake of trying to take as many spots as possible as early as possible. While at times this works, more often than not the drop (restack) will not favour you. Try to link where possible, but keep it tight. It not only keeps other players attentions from you, it also sounds a psychological warning shot to all and asunder that you are here for the long haul, and to stay clear.

And finally...

4. Learn from your mistakes. The number of games players lose by making schoolboy errors is frightening - and I'm in there with them. If you don't feel confident to throw a 4v4, dont do it. If your stacks are widely spread - sit tight. If you're bored with this post, quit reading it for god's sake.

Why aren't you playing?!

Bru ;)

Think ahead. Find position, connect, whatever. Imagine what your neighbors will do next turn.

In tables higher up, it's not wise to pray for a good restack.

Or in the case of Mugambo, pga.

(Yes, a 40% win percentage is rather revealing. In the month that you played the most games [June], thus giving you the best representation of your true stats, you had only 12% wins.)

Jeez XC the guy has a 40% win pct yes, but he's only played 10 games. We all have streaks where we hit 4 of 10.
