that would not stop elitism, as elitism is more of an attitude than one specific action, it's an ego thing. People will still know who has high elo's, and will still be able to brag. Also the other thing that style of game wouldn't have is decent chat, decent meta game, decent friendship. Many people play this game for human interaction, what you want is to play an api. If you want that that badly, make your own api, set up 6 bots and play them, like a good old fashioned dice wars. Instead of getting upset though, just live with it, or take actions on your own to deal with things. This is the way multi player games work, live with it.

Other than that, no names and no chat won't stop pregame alliances, they use ICQ or something, it would even help them to cover their tactics.
