Why Is The Scoring System So Poorly Implemented?

It's so ridiculous to try and make it to 1800 when you're at 1750 or whatever because if you do happen to get 2nd place you're usually against a bunch of 1500-1650 players and you win something ridiculous like 7 points.

But then if you're bumped out in 6th place you lose 30 points. It's just so freaking frustrating to keep getting close and get smacked down unfairly based on the terrible scoring system.

The scoring system is well planned out and it is adjusted by the rating of players at your table. That being said you don't have to sit with 1500 players. Wait for teal or brown's seat. If you don't like what the other 5 players are rated, don't sit at the table.

The scoring system would work as intended with tables at 200pt gaps.

I would advise against gunning for 1800 until this is addressed. Just have fun playing, and if scheming for points is fun, relax when the rolls fail.

the problem is we dont have 1600 1700 tables, not the scoring system

He`s saying his rating fluctuates too much. Elo ratings aren`t supposed to fluctuate, so it`s a reasonable complaint, although not very constructive.

200 gap tables would take these bad fluctuations and turn the rating system into a game where you try to be lucky and level up to the next set of tables.

All the best!

Some people just can't get over the hump into the 1800's and beyond...just accept it.

I've been at 1800, and I still think the 300 pt gap is whacked

Can't get over the 1800 hump???? I've been as high as 1942. The problem is this:

If I'm at 1750 I can only play a 1500 table. If I win, I might be lucky to get 30 some-odd points. If I get 2nd place, I might only win 6-12 points.

But if I lose and finish in 6th or 7th I drop 30-50 points.

It all depends on the scores of others at the table. At least my rank reflects accurately my skill in the game. It's just annoying that when you hit 1780 unless you're coming in first place you will likely need to place well in 2-3 consecutive games to clear the 1800 hump. And if you get one bad round BAM, you're knocked back down pretty significantly.

some poeple are just natually annoying, just dont pay any attention to them.

grandgnu - i totall agree with you.

another problem is if you are at 1700+ and play at a 1500 table, sometimes the other 1500+ players tend to gang up on you......

Just play and stop worrying about your score. It isn't life or death. Ryan has created a great game with an excellent scoring system. It SHOULD be very hard to get to the higher tables so only the best get there. Get over it.
