There is probably a place for this, but I'm putting it here. Anyone else is free to put it in the right place and pawn blame on me for it, or take credit for it yourself.
AlphaZeta: it's so lame that the first 3 to start get 5 lands instead of the normal 4 AlphaZeta: seems like the people that go last should get more land to make up for those lost in the first round 2Blue: send your suggestion to ryan 2Blue: i agree with you |

I guess you don't know that Ryan did this on purpose? He also limited starting stacks to 5 dice. Those changes gave the game more balance. And the 5 lands isn't always the first 3. Sometimes it is just the first person, other times (unless Ryan changed it) it is just the last two players |

at 11:53 PM, Wednesday May 2, 2007 EDT jdk's got it... the disadvantage is that the players with an extra territory dont get any extra dice... which means shorter stacks... which means a poorer ability at having a good first turn... which seems like a decent disadvanage given early position.

at 11:33 AM, Thursday May 3, 2007 EDT Ah ha, for the longest time I thought that it was totally random in the start other than people getting 4 or 5 stacks. Glad I know now.
That being said I still hate going first and Love going last with 4 territories and 2 5 stacks. Unless you lose a crappy battle (5 v 2) you have a very good shot at placing top 3 |

at 9:08 PM, Monday October 15, 2007 EDT I like starting 3rd-5th. First players often clear the way for you, but you still have good chances of keeping your territories, which means better flexibility to choose your strategy.

at 9:49 PM, Monday October 15, 2007 EDT personally, I prefer going last and starting with just 1 4 stack and losing a 4v2. Then rallying to convince everyone to kill teal so that I get 6th.
