I think people that flag shouldnt be attacked by the 1st in rank

The flag is not a sign of unconditional surrender. It just states you wish this game to be over and you agree with your place in that game. If you do not flag if 1st or the winning alliance asks you, you might have to bear consequences.

The flag is more "I'm happy to finish now".

Some benefits.
* Let's everyone get on to another game.
* Mean's 1st doesn't have to play "God" to decide the finishing order.
* Great way to spoil pathetic truces. Everyone else just says "O.K. you win and flags"!!!

I will flag when I am in a position where there is no hope. I don't attack when flagged, and usually try not to attack those that have flagged.

I suppose I shouldn't bitch about people who clean up flagged players, but it always strikes me as a waste.

I think flagging is for players with short attention spans or who don't care to fight out lopsided battles with first place and/or alliances.

Flagging used to make sense when scores were based on rank. If everyone was satisfied with their rank, they flagged. Game over. Everyone happy.

Now, it is nothing more than a sign that you totally give up and just want to move on. Or something else entirely. No consensus anymore.

I know about the benifit of starting a new game. But I was hoping for something more on the side of points. You know, two territories left, will I get/lose more/less more points if I flag now? or fight it out?

isn't the flag just freezing your dom points ? So you can only loose spots ?
