at 11:00 PM, Tuesday October 28, 2008 EDT I absolutely hate going last, I think the first player has a big advantage, even with the differences in territories. I don't think you need to give the first player extra time on top of things.

at 5:04 PM, Wednesday February 4, 2009 EST There are already disadvantages built in with going first... more starting land means smaller stacks. The reason that the time thing is a problem, in my view, is that we can sit on the higher tables waiting for a (good) game for quite a while. Instead of staring at a blank board, most people switch to a different tab or open a different, just waiting to hear the horn for the game to start. By the time you switch over to the table, you have lost a few seconds of your evaluation time... so not only do you not get the advantage of sitting through another's turn before you go... you often can lose a few of the precious seconds you do have coming back to the board.
I would even be fine with the idea of a 5 second delay *before the dice are shown* so that the player is aware and ready to to go, to get his full alotted time. |

at 2:56 PM, Sunday March 8, 2009 EDT why is this thing still being bumped. Its absolutely perfect the way it is now. First gets extra time already and there is no need to change the starting time.
