SwiftCashew's Guide to Not Getting Your Territories Cut

Bad territory "thickness" leads to people cutting you, which leads to small stacks, which leads to death. Use this guide to help you not get cut.

Strategy #1: Simply, have multiple layers of territory. What this means is:

(X are your territory, O is someone elses)

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The maps won't look that straight, but you get the point. Each line of Xs is a layer of territory. The more layers you have, the more territories they have to go thru to cut you. Try to keep the other person with as few layers as possible.

Strategy #2: Form a circle territory format:
OOOOOO
O XXXXXX O
OOOOOO

Since you are in a circle, they have to take 2 non-neighboring territories to make a cut.

Strategy #3: When someone attacks you, attack that territory they gained. This prevents being cut in the first place. Don't attack too much unless you have a good amount of reserve dice (the dice on your player info that goes up to 32).

Hope this helps you to keep alive!

Sorry for bad "diagrams". Couldn't think of another way. And on Strategy #2, I mixed up the format. The circle is supposed to be Xs and the line inside is supposed to be Os.

I will add new strategies in comments.

Strategy #4: NEVER take risks to make possible areas for people to cut you. (Never move something from where it might be a poor restack [you never know] after your turn.)
