Make it impossible to flag out before being killed

Many times when trying to get the +50 kill points, the person being killed will just flag out because they don't want the other person to get kill points. This screws with people's strategies.
For example, I see that I could get +50 points, but in order to do that I might need to risk my 2nd place position. Then while I put my position on the line to get +50 the person I am trying to kill simply flags out... I have just lost my 2nd and my +50. This happens very often.

I know the solution to this is difficult, there are a few problems.
First- Sometimes people feel as if the person killing them does not deserve the flag.
The solution to this problem is that people will just need to get used to being killed by other players. If it gives them 50 points, it was a strategic move for them. In fact it was the person who died's fault that he didn't protect himself enough.

Second- On tables with dom, it is good to flag out early because you keep your dom. So we cannot completely take out the flagging out.
This problem is a bigger one. Because flagging is an important part of the game. Does anyone have suggestions on this one?

"""I thought that when somebody clicks the flag button, it would take one whole turn for them to be flagged out. The reason for this is that people who flag out before a kill usually do it right before the kill takes place. Having a delay between the time that they click the flag out box and the time that they actually are taken out of the game would give people time to take the kill they have strategically thought of taking. (I thought of other solutions also, but this one is the easiest programming-wise)"""

There are probably more problems, and I would love to try to work through them to see this game really become more strategic and fun!

Another solution would be to only be able to flag out on your turn. This would prevent people from flagging out just before they get killed too.

+1 for only being able to flag DURING your turn. That seems to solve a lot of problems regardless if it is a flag or a flag-out.

Or give the player the kill if they take out that person's dice within X seconds of flagging out.

Yeah that's true, if it's possible to make the person who just flagged out's dice a lighter color, which shows that they are gone, but if you kill those lighter colored dice then you get the kill.
This might be tough to do though...

You risk your 2nd for getting the 50. The other guy is hanging on striving for 4th to not lose the 50 (if it was a 0 table). You ruin his chance, he's free to ruin your shot as well. Your strategy failed as you crushed his. It is just fair. People give kills quite generously from my experience - they refuse the kill to those they do not respect (I won't use stronger expressions in the forum, you know what I mean). Maybe you should work on your overall presentation of your character in order to have people not deliberately ruining your strategies.

I do not recall playing you, I just argued a bit from the information given and experience. No insult was intended, my apologies if I did insult anybody.

Flagging out only during your turn is worth a thought but it would change the game. Wouldn't be the first change and might be discussed, but it is a change. Lurking around hoping for 4th is as much a valid strategy on 0 and 100 tables for the time being as wasting 2nd for a kill. It is of course rather dumb on higher tables. On a 500 flagging out when you unexpectedly lose a lot of countries before it is your turn and your dom changes on the other hand is also a strategic decision.

As you said - it is not that easy. As flagging out on dom-tables is accepted, I vote for no change on low tables as well. Make people give you the kill by appearing to be a nice person rather than a crazed psycho. That could add value to the community.

You can only flag out in your own turn. Maybe a 1 turn delay without a dom loss so everyone get a fair shot at the kill.

also,

The higher the table, the higher the risk is to make a kill sometimes, should be rewarded with something like this:

0/100 +50
500 + 150
2000 + 250
5000 + 500

agree with Louis. i remember playing back when there ws no kill pts. I do not think anyone is 'entitled' to any kills. if the game is played in the purest sense of how it should be (imo) you should be going for second rather than risk for fifty.

I realise this is different becasue second is barely anything now and 3rd is evens after the change, but it doesnt mean you are entitled to kill. in fact not giving it to you slows u down for the month (tbf people playing on 50/100 tables arent winning medals and on bigger tables kill risk is pointless, but still)

I do what louis said. Give my kill to the person that has battered me and not a sniper. if it is an unexpected attack so be it i let it go, thats just me, only time i flag out is if blue has smashed me for 10 rnds and purp tries to nick it. Its blues kill, he aint getting it.
