Good morning K-community. I?d like to take a moment to introduce myself and let everyone know that Ryan has appointed me as a moderator.

The following are the rules Ryan has set forth to govern KDice:

General Rules

1. Do not use pornography avatars
2. Do not harass people
3. Do not use hate language or avatars

Game Rules

1. Game-to-game favors or alliances are not allowed
2. Play only one account at a time

I will expound on these rules a bit and let everyone know my expectations for the community.

***Do not use pornography avatars ? This includes all full frontal nudity, both male and female.

Offense # 1: Verbal warning
Offense # 2: Avatar privileges revoked for 1 week
Offense # 3: Avatar privileges revoked for 1 month
Offense # 4: IP ban of the account

***Do not harass people ? This includes stalking players from table to table, cursing and name calling. Harassment can occur in the chat box and on the forum.

Offense # 1: Verbal warning
Offense # 2: Chat and posting privileges revoked for 1 week
Offense # 3: Chat and posting privileges revoked for 1 month
Offense # 4: IP ban of the account

NOTE: Chat box harassment and forum harassment offenses will accumulate as though they are one in the same. If you are verbally warned on the tables and later commit another offense in the forum, this will be considered offense # 2.

***Do not use hate language or avatars ? This is a bit of a gray area, but common sense will govern this rule. Any words, phrases, or pictures used to belittle a specific group.

Offense # 1: Verbal warning
Offense # 2: Chat and posting privileges revoked for 1 week
Offense # 3: Chat and posting privileges revoked for 1 month & ability to play revoked for 1 week
Offense # 4: IP ban of the account

***Game-to-game favors or alliances are not allowed ? A game-to-game favor is defined as two or more players helping each other in one game with the expectation of this help being reciprocated by the same player or players in another game. Pre Game Alliance (PGA) is defined as two or more players sitting together at a table that have determined to help each other in a game before it has begun. Funneling points is defined as a player or group of players that sit together with the intent of raising a specific players final position in a game in order to maximize that players points. (this is usually done to affect the outcome of the monthly competition) PGE (Pre Game Enemy) targeting is defined as a player or group of players that target a specific player to kill in order to affect the outcome of the monthly competition.

There is A LOT of gray area in all of the definitions above regarding game-to-game favors and alliances, and detection of these offenses can be very difficult.

Offense # 1: Verbal warning
Offense # 2: Ability to play revoked for 1 week
Offense # 3: Ability to play revoked for 1 month
Offense # 4: IP ban of the account

NOTE: In extreme cases Ryan will reserve the right to change a player(s) point total to a level achieved prior to points earned in a manner deemed to be cheating.

The main objective of moderating the community is to make sure everyone has the opportunity to play, chat, and post in a fair and mannerly way. I will NOT moderate any account based on what I am told by others through the chat box or what someone posts in the forum. Posting chat logs on the forum will NOT be sufficient evidence for moderation of an account either, but it may bring attention to the need of further investigation of a matter. Screen shots, for the most part, will also NOT be sufficient evidence for moderation of an account as they lack context.

I will not be able to completely rid the community of cheating, but I will do my best to discourage it and make it difficult to achieve. Ryan has made it very clear that he wants cheaters and abusers to be dealt with swiftly and with harsh consequences.

If you have any personal concerns you wish to discuss outside of a KDice chat box or forum post, please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected].

its a good idea that kdice mod stays incognito. there needs to be some sort of accountability though. everyone should check out kdice.com/AdvisorLog every once in a while. we shouldn't grant this much power to a person that has no fear of retribution and only needs to justify his actions in one single sentence in the log.

also, why make cursing a bannable offense? flamewars are one of the few fun things left around here.

My accountability is to Ryan.

Cursing is not outlawed, it simply needs to be avoided in a harassing manner towards other players. If somebody backstabs you in-game and you feel the need to call them a stupid fuck a few times in the heat of the moment, feel free. However, don't follow them around from table to table calling them a stupid fuck. That would be harassment.

Otherwise, I don't give a damn how people speak towards each other in standard conversation.
